CHRISTIAN SKREIN, BIO

Christan Skrein was born in Vienna, Austria on April 20th in 1945. Choosing a new camera by Leica over the annual family summer vacation, the always-creative troublemaker shot his first pieces for newspapers, when he was 17 years young.

In the late Sixties, Christian Skrein belonged to the Fashion Elite Clique and Society Photographers. His captures of actors, models and artists were published in many publications. As a member of the Vienna's 68 Club he photographed Joseph Beuys, Christo, Andy Warhol, Arnuf Rainer, Hundertwasser, The Beatles, Oswald Wiener, Christian Ludwig Attersee and Hans Hollein as well as Catherine Deneuve, Gina Lollobrigida, Sean Connery and Grace Kelly. In his late '20, he stepped up to being a filmmaker and opened Skrein Films.

After selling sodas, cigarettes, candy and lingerie for the next 25 years and winning awards for his 20 second spots he throw the creative towel for the next 15 years and started buying businesses, renovating them and reselling them with new concepts and strategies. Today he is a single father of 3, living in Austria's countryside with his partner Maria.

When Skrein is not buried by millions of snapshots collected over the past decades, he travels the world attending to museum and gallery exhibitions featuring his own work as a Photographer.
